Native American Art

America the Beautiful is the theme for Memoiral School's art program this year. Students will create and observe art that reflects the character of America throughout generations, starting with Native American Art. Students have been busy, starting in September building totem poles, designing bravery shields, creating Kachinas, weaving and reading Tribal Ledgonds. Some of the books we have read include The Legend of the Indian Paintbrush, The Legend of the Blue Bonnet and The Raven. 

This year's art show and Pancake Breakfast was quite a success !
I have been told that over 350 meal tickets were sold and many more just stopped by to see the art. A big thank you to all the volunteers and everyone that came out on a Saturday morning to support the art program.
